About This Blog

I’ve been wanting to keep a journal about my experience with cancer and chemotherapy, and yesterday Kate Middleton announcing that she is battling cancer has prompted me to start this blog.

At the age of 35, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Although the cancer did not spread to other parts of my body, I got bumped from stage 1 cancer to a stage 2A because my lump was only slightly more than 2cm.

My immunohistochemistry results were: ER positive, PR positive and HER2 negative.

It took me 6 months from surgery to chemotherapy (4 rounds) and finish radiotherapy (15 sessions).

I’m currently on hormone therapy, which is a fancy name for taking Tamoxifen pills daily for the next 10 years.

Now that the chemotherapy brain fog is starting to lift, I look forward to recounting my experience with cancer and documenting my cancer treatment journey, one at a time, while hoping that I can be more organized with my memory.

I wish for this to be a safe space for sharing and encouragement to all who are fighting the same battle or know someone who are.

My new battle cry right now – turning pain into power!

I’m Eva
