Chemotherapy: Session 3/4

– December 2023 // Chemotherapy session 3/4 –

The lady at the registration gave me a nice little room with a bed this time round, compared to just a couch the last 2 times, since I was in a lower risk group now. It was much more comfortable and I just binged on Netflix during the entire session (when I didn’t pass out from steroids LOL).

The side effects this time were milder than the second round. I only had a mild fever, dry mouth and toilet runs. There was no more back pain and with way less serious heart palpitations.

This was when I envisioned myself being halfway done walking through the dark tunnel. The light at the end of it grew bigger and brighter at this point. I had been grumpy and depressed the past 2 months, but now I began to see hope.

This whole ordeal is actually ending!

HOWEVER, I started getting asthmatic symptoms again the week after. My voice even changed and I couldn’t finish a medium-length sentence in one breath. I sounded like a 90 year old that even my boss noticed when I spoke to her on Zoom. It lasted for more than a week and I was terrified that it would be a long term effect.
