Not Alone In The Tunnel

– September 2023

Nobody could possibly understand what I’m going through.

Negative thoughts were the first to mess with me.

Well, right after denial.

One thing that I’m really thankful for, is that I have a great support system.

My husband has always been a rock. Calm and logical.

My friends, on the other hand, were shocked to find out. They flew in from across the country to offer their support. 2 days before my surgery, we had the best time doing things we’ve never done before such as cycling. They offer advice from the experience of people they know who’ve had cancer. They are the ones who can lift up my mood in an instant.

So yes, nobody can understand my struggle. But my friends and family are definitely my torchbearer in this dark tunnel. And you bet there is light at the end of it.
